Application Procedure of Visit Visa and Limited Stay Visa
The New Regulation sets out different application procedures for different types of procedures of visa applications. There are different kinds of procedures for:
1. visitor visas and limited stay visas submitted by foreign nationals to the Director General of Immigration;
2. visitor visas and limited stay visas submitted by sponsors of the foreign nationals to the Director General of Immigration;
The visa application requests will be either granted by immigration officers at the embassy or representative office of Indonesia abroad or by immigration officers at immigration check points (e.g. airport).
Rejection of Visit Visa and Limited Stay Visa
The visa application of a foreigner may be rejected in case the foreigner:
is listed on the immigration black list (deterrence list);
does not hold valid travel documents, sufficient money for its stay in Indonesia or does not have an onward or return ticket;
is suffering from physical or mental diseases which may prove harmful to public health and order;
Are involved in organized transnational crimes, prostitution or human trafficking networks.
Cancellation of Visit Visa and Limited Stay Visa
Visas which have already been issued to foreigner may be cancelled in case:
the cancellation is requested by the sponsor of the foreigner (e.g. in case of a Limited Stay Visa, the sponsor is the local company where the foreigner is stationed);
the foreigner is involved in crimes (including prostitution or human trafficking networks), is included on the black list (deterrence list), performs acts which may affect public safety, or is violating in any other way the Indonesian laws and regulations.
